MALAPASCUA

Sometimes it happens that you organize scuba diving for something special, you don’t get it as you had hoped but you go back home satisfied anyway.
Malapascua for me was a synonymous of thresher sharks. Two days at “Monad shoal”, the thrasher’s dive spot, with long waits repaid with a distant and fleeting visions.

Fortunately the island of Malapascua is surrounded by reefs and sandy bottoms that host more. The few dives we made, there were enough to relize it and remind us that we were in the Philippine Visayas.

I still remember a dive in particular: the nightdive at “Lighthouse”.
An unforgettable experience of an entire dive surrounded by dozens of Tiger tail seahorses (Hippocampus comes) high up to twenty centimeters, that moved slowly from one coral to another. We covered our torches with hands to observe them without disturbing, we remained enchanted by this amazing show.
